After twenty-five years of teaching, this course is exactly what I needed. It not only gave me an opportunity to touch-up on my grammar and mechanics, but it also gave me a ton of new ideas for the upcoming school year. Elaine Reimer-Pare made the course extremely enjoyable, and her feedback was always thoughtful and encouraging. I will definitely be taking one of her courses in the future. Thank you, Elaine.

This course was more valuable than I had anticipated. The text for the course was wonderful and offered many practical applications for my classroom and curriculum. The assignments also felt purposeful and I don't feel like there was any busy work assigned. Thank you!

The text used for this course is a valuable resource. It includes thorough explanations of the topics with sample lessons that are easy to use and adapt to varying grade levels. I have been teaching for over thirty years, but I still found many ideas in the text that I plan on using each year in my Writing Workshop.

I love this resource. The course does a great job of helping to navigate the information. I came away with useful lessons. I really appreciate the ability to do this at my own pace. Teaching during Covid has been an experience, and very exhausting. Knowing that I could do these lessons and activities when I had both time and energy, and still come away with useful knowledge, was incredibly valuable. Thank you.

The text on which this course is built, Mechanically Inclined, offers a contextual approach to teaching grammar. Each of the course activities are structured to help teachers reframe their grammar instruction to better suit the needs of the students.

This class took someone who was nervous about teaching grammar in the classroom and got them to a point where they hope to teach grammar in a classroom someday. The text was user friendly and the concept of a writer's workshop was modeled well. The professor was quick to score assignments and responded quickly to any questions that I had.

I loved this course because it was so applicable to what I teach. I was able to redo my entire grammar unit and make it so much more meaningful. This is honestly my favorite grad course that I have ever taken.
