Hispanic Literature: Gary Soto

Enrich your knowledge with the literary work of well known and gifted Latino author, Gary Soto. This course is designed to help teachers of grades K-12 teach literature and creative writing using the works of Gary Soto. Soto's natural style and his interest in everyday experiences make his writing a perfect introduction to literature and a natural springboard for creative writing in the classroom. Readers of all ethnicities now have more opportunity to share the richness of the culture as well as understand more fully what these people have experienced.

NOTE: Required book must be acquired separately.

This course is applicable towards the Literature Appreciation Certificate.
