What Will You Learn in the PD Course?

In this course, the historical perspective of the dynamic evolution of online teaching and the driving forces behind it will be explored as well as the strategies, theories, and concepts that surround the online classroom.

Throughout the course, the possibilities for matching learning objectives to assessments and creating student-centered activities will be explored using emerging technology. In addition, you will develop a basic understanding of copyright and accessibility issues and how they apply in the age of the Internet. This course will strengthen the essential skills and knowledge necessary to be an effective online instructor and meet the needs of 21st-century students as identified in the National Educational Technology Plan.

You do not need to purchase any materials. Everything that you need for this course will be found online. Word processing and presentation programs, such as Microsoft Word and PowerPoint are recommended but not required.

Your instructor will provide links to videos, podcasts, worksheets, online activities, journal articles, and other resources.
