Dr. Joan Frese

I have been interested in technology all my adult life. I get particularly excited about new technology and how it can change our lives for the better. I taught at Fresno City College for 21 years full-time and 7 years adjunct. I had the privilege of teaching Computer Concepts as well as C++ Programming, Web Page Development and more. I enjoy sharing my knowledge as well as learning from my students.
Professional Experience: Taught technology for over 30 years
Personal Experience: My husband and I have been involved with Students International for many years and have gone on mission trips with them to Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic and more.
Scholarly Interests: I like to read about new advancements in technology. I am also interested in genealogy.
Honors and Awards: Graduated Suma Cum Laude from University of Wisconsin.
Publications: In 2020 I published a technology book as well as a 100-page genealogy book with photos for our grandchildren. While in graduate school, I had three publications in professional journals on the topic of teaching online. My doctoral dissertation was “A Faculty Development Handbook for Quality Online Instruction”.

Family Info: Married for 50 years to Rod. We have 3 sons and 1 daughter and 6 grandsons and 6 granddaughters.

What I Like About FPU: That it is a small Christian University
